It was All Saints Day yesterday too! So after Church and lunch with Mummy, I went to meet bicycle crew at Gloria Jeans! Haven’t gotten together for such a long time omg (apart from Sub’s birthday), and it was lovely seeing you guys :D Our DIT (do it together) scrapbooking session was funnn! I’m going to beautify the bicycle book at home when I have the time. Thanks guys for the photos and stickers and the pretty book! Enjoyed the cupcakes too <3 We should go cycling again real soon so that we can proudly be called Bicycle Crew alright!

After a while Sub came back from the “toilet” and passed me a card which had Hernie’s handwriting on it (obviously recognisable haha). I was super puzzled at first cause I had no idea there was a Harvey Norman in Raffles City. It turned out to be my first clue to a treasure hunt! Haha the whole thing totally made me feel like a kid again (: Thanks guys for planning such an awesome surprise, I really didn’t expect it! (: compliments from birthday queen okay! So I found Nigel there and a yellow diary among all the laptops, then Yenjin at Precious Thots with a really lovely scrapbook they did for me <3 The next clue was at Robinson’s bra section -.- to meet Little Miss Cheekoniang! Haha she gave me a huge paper clip with bras printed on it omg it’s quite cute la (: Spent the longest time at Prints because I couldn’t spot the yellow file on the top shelf. Hehhh then the Chocz cake at the end with Cheng Aik and Mark, aww (: You guys rock to the max, I mean it!
Took a walk to Esplanade area and took really pretty pictures (:
I think that place is really romantic at night! Wandered around at Marina Square for a while, and gave Yenjin bigger eyes with eyeliner! Haha then the guys started talking about starting up a business in making detachable earrings, cause they came up with a theory that it’s dangerous for girls to wear big hoop earrings that people are tempted to pull -.-
Thanks guys! I actually haven’t even finished reading all your notes to me in the scrapbook, but I really love it! Hern you’ve been an awesome fellow chinese dancer + GS + classmate! And no matter what I really truly treasure you as my frienddd <3 We’ll survive the rest of the morning announcements together and type the coolest minutes alright. So sad Mel and Mark couldn’t join us for dinner cause of another birthday and house warming! But anyway Sakae Sushi was fun :D The sitting on the floor thing was a scam though haha, but yay not bad food, great company! Feel guilty about making people broke after my birthday, but I shall make it up to you during Christmas alright! The season of giving and my favourite time of the year <3
Then today! Omg man, another awesome surprise (: I was feeling all sian ever since I was left by myself in the classroom with a vulgar table next to mine without a working Zen to block out the noise for 2 hours. After that I sat through Pubco formals until I got to halfway through my Disco part, and suddenly got blindfolded -.- Haha sorry I peeked! But well it was scary enough not seeing where I was going and being led up stairs to some unknown far away place by two people who refused to talk. But anyway bros, thank you for putting so much effort into the surprise! It was really cool omg, love you DAYS.
I read your letters at home! It wasn’t that bad what, I could have read it in front of you two and nothing dramatic would have happened :D Haha anyway I’m really thankful to have you guys as my close friends ever since campaigning days! I was almost tearing cause of happiness okay, but mostly due to the blindfold -.- Love the flowers and apple crumble and the candles (:
BFF <3 Thanks for being a double surprise for my seventeenth! Will always be here to put up with your crazy moods and to have heart-to-heart talks! (: You’ve been a wonderful friend to me and will continue to be for years to come! It won’t be 1st November till like half an hour later, but the lead-up to my birthday over the past few days has already been very happy! Today Pubco cleaned up the council room and I’m super proud of us :D The room and shed look totally spanking clean now as compared to during Scream period. I love making things clean (: Haha so now we can actually walk into both places without tripping over things or stepping on them! Councillors don’t be naughty and mess up the room again okay! At least let it stay clean for a few months? And what’s more, I found letters from HCCD in there! Apparently we were supposed to get it from them in April, but I had no idea the board was in the council room this whole time. Reading all the lovely notes made me feel so nostalgic and fuzzy inside <3 I still miss them indescribably much ): And dancing. To my favourite girls, we have to have a proper outing soon okay, I’m serious! I miss you guys too much (:
Met Gemma and Yunyi after that at Starbucks for a short while! They crowned me princess and printed our pretty photos from yesterday! Haha so cute omg. Yesterday was really fun by the way <3 After dinner at Holland V’s Crystal Jade, we went to try on dresses and had Frolick for dessert (: Hung around Gemma’s condo and camwhored in her room! Love you GSY, nine years and counting! I’m only me when I’m with you.
Then yesterday, Pubhouse did a surprise for me :D It partially succeeded because I seriously thought Benny wanted an “urgent AAR” wth -.- HAHA but I reached the council bench earliest when no one was there except him, and he was already drawing on the box of my birthday cake. But anyway it was really sweet! Literally, because they gave me a jar of sugar (instead of sand) which I hope won’t attract ants at home! Thanks Pubhouse <3 Zay came to meet me at Starbucks! Haha short update session, and we met ARIES TEO, Tiara and Rachel Wong there! Study hard seniors <3
Athena Fac outing today was awesome possum too! I love steamboats actually, the soup’s always nice! And the company of course (: htht with BFF was <3! Then since the council room is actually accessible after today’s cleanup by Pubco, we played Taboo in there while Ju-on was playing and had tons of fun :D The rain totally didn’t dampen spirits.
So far, so good (: Tomorrow’s going to be great fun! Time to enjoy myself man. Thanks everyone for making my seventeenth so special even before it happens <3 Happy Halloween!
Scream is over! My voice is still around thankfully (: My sanitiser trick only worked like 25% of the time though, and I bought two bottles for nothing since I only used less than half of one! Got quite used to the dark and scary music already so I guess it wasn’t so bad. Some people who came in were quite funny anyway, like Mel who laughed all the way except at my station cause she didn’t recognise me! Got home at 2am plus in the morning omg, and I skipped dinner so I ate my cup noodles so fast that I got a slight stomachache -.- One thing the trial taught me? That you should never do unto others what you don’t want others to do unto you!
We had an (early) birthday dinner yesterday at Il Lido! Super full from all the cheesy pizza and pasta, but it was a nice meal overall <3 My sis and I ordered Ratatouille for fun but didn’t finish it cause it was mainly brinjal and tomatoes. Haha so much for movie titles! Watched My Sister’s Keeper with Mummy and Gab in the afternoon, and the whole cinema was totally sniffing at the hospital scene. Really loved the movie! <3 I only read the book halfway though, before the part about Taylor. Stories involving the law and trials tend to appeal to me, such as To Kill a Mockingbird! But no interest whatsoever in law as a career I think. Got into MindChamps TAG so I’m going to have something meaningful to do during the holidays (:
Haha sorry friends I know I was being all excited about watching it with you guys this upcoming weekend and all, but since it’s a family movie anyway and my mum really wanted to watch it as our combined birthday movie outing, we shall find something else to do together okay!
Anyway I’m typing on my cool laptop now which has stickers to cover up the holes that my fingernails made in the keyboard -.- My PW group is awesome to the max haha but I can’t wait for OP to be over (:

okay today was basically dumb. Omg I thrashed Huberthan in Table Tennis today!! :) Haha loserr! :) Let me see what else there is to blog. Cheer up Sandy! It doesn’t look as bleak as it is. I’m sorry if I seemed too excited just now when I got back my grades. Sorry! I know it sucks when everyone has good grades except for you, but you know, my recipe for getting over such shitty grades (eg. my History) would be to keep brooding about it. Even though this sounds weird but trust me, after a while you’ll find that brooding is actually pointless and boring. And after that, you’ll find the secret to happiness again! :) Yup, ask me for my daily cheer me up! I think my daily cheer me up for now is really effective. (for me at least)

I survived a whole day without my phone in school! Main highlight of the day is the terribly huge bruise on my right knee ): I banged it really hard on the canteen bench after getting down from walking on it. I’ve been such a klutz these few days, maybe it’s the lack of a working brain after Promos stopped! Anyway the bruise is super big now, it’s like this reddish-purplish-greenish spot that’s bigger than a ping pong ball.
I totally fell asleep during PW meeting, so sorry! Was so tired and couldn’t help it omg, I couldn’t even stay awake this morning to finish my sandwich in the car which I usually do. I’m probably sleeping less post-Promos than pre-Promos, because now there’s no more guilt about sleeping late. Plus, interesting conversation last night about good feelings! (:
Welfare duty today was odd because for once there’s nothing to revise while on during duty, so we were just bumming around, me trying out my Scream stuff on people! Kevin copied songs for me on my hard drive so yay (: I didn’t expect so many! Shall be listening to them soon.
And… our seniors have graduated. Makes me think about how time has passed, and is going to pass so fast ): Spent a few pensive hours today thinking about how we’re all going to grow old one day. Well life’s like that (: Just treasure the present!
Bumming around in class now because I didn’t bring my PE attire today and I’m too broke to buy one -.- We were told we’d be doing swimming next week HAHA I really wonder how many of us will actually be in the water. I’m super unfit now omg, better do something about it soon. (Yunyi! Jogging at CCK?) Yenjin borrowed my Zen just now and since I’ve no idea where it is I’m using hers! But it’s looping Try a million times omg, and I don’t know how to change the settings.

Okay the list isn’t very long now that I’ve already watched three movies consecutively during the weekend after Promos. Didn’t make it for class dinner at 15 minutes yesterday ): I heard the food was nice, sigh! Was stuck doing maze in school, because most of our walls fell down. And the Scream video is up on HCunite omg, I’m still not going to watch it!
My Monday holiday was spent everywhere but at home. Was at Bishan library in the morning editing some Prom pages with Michael (the queue to go in was crazy), then met Cammie for Mos lunch! <3 Haha exciting updates and all (: Plus she got so amused by how we were walking out towards the MRT/bus stop because we couldn’t decide which way to go so we were like swerving left and right. HAHA okay it already sounds damn retarded in words, bet we looked really strange walking like that in the middle of J8! MISS YOU (: After that we spent like 4 hours at a printing office in the middle of the forest of buildings in Paya Lebar discussing the Prom mag!
So much for thinking that I had no plans for Monday.
We’re going to get back our GP and Math papers today. Scared omg, Lit yesterday was already quite disappointing, though it was a better grade than blocks. And the worst has yet to come ):
Anyway, amidst all this, I’m looking forward to next weekend <3 For once I can plan to do whatever I want to do! Well apart from cleaning the council room and Econs tuition maybe :/ I hope PE ends soon, I’m getting sleepy from doing PW and Prom.
Scream has been taking up much of my leisure time over the past few days, with building garbage bag walls, filming, running, screaming, and everything else related to horror which I usually wouldn’t do! I totally screwed up when the seniors came back for the trial, we were so unprepared. Honestly I’m still quite freaked out by it all, but I guess by next week I’ll be more used to it (hopefully), if not I totally won’t survive maze. And anyway my night light buddy always makes things ten times better! <3
Haha impromptu baking session today, did cookie fingers! Which turned out rather cool, just that the almond nails kept falling off. Out of all the people I messaged, only 4 of us could make it because everyone else was busy with PW! Just as well anyway, since my kitchen can’t exactly fit everyone at once. Our PW meeting at KAP was efficient (: Nic’s birthday surprise totally failed because he found us outside trying to prepare the candles on the cake. The balloon is cute though! My camera battery has been dead for the past week, so I don’t have many recent photos, unlike how I’m usually armed with a camera 24/7! And since it’s mostly Scream, there isn’t much of a motivation to charge it because I don’t really fancy the idea of keeping creepy pictures in my memory card :/
Oh man I just realised that I won’t be totally free tomorrow because I have Prom stuff to settle! Sigh, I’m so tired I think my eyebags won’t ever disappear, even though I hoped they would after Promos. I slept till 11.35am on Saturday when I was supposed to be in school by 1.30pm omg, that’s like the latest time ever in years.
Okay time to get back to life.
I just really want to forget this and ignore anyone who asks me about it.
But then again instead of rambling on about how terrible it was (like I would in my personal diary if only I had one now), maybe I’ll just focus on the good stuff. Like how some people around me have been such awesome friends, really I wouldn’t know what to do without them. My two awesome brothers who are always there to stand up for me and BFF whom I can’t get through life without! <3 Love you DAYS, you guys are so sweet really (: Makes life a whole lot better! Plus encouragements from a little blue bird I’ve been getting despite her ongoing study plans for As <3 Just going to treat this as some cruel nightmare. And maybe by some miracle there’s a 5% chance that I’ll be able to get over my “phobia”? Though I’m still incredulously disbelieving the fact that I let myself do this ):
Sabbaticals have been fun (: Street jazz gave me muscle aches today omg. From the warm-ups and stretches! It just sadly goes to show how long I haven’t been practising or exercising. And I gave the rose bouquet from today’s flower arrangement to my mum for her birthday present in advance (:
Over the weekend I watched three movies in three days, with The Ugly Truth on Sunday during Sub and Kevin’s birthday outing (: Monday was such an eventful day. DAYS picnic in the morning, though we waited for Aaron for like an hour or so because he overslept! Haha well for that he got his pants coloured blue by my picnic mat because the colour ran. Coolest breakfast I’ve had in years (: I made like two trips to Orchard that day! Met my lovely SCPB Exco for a while; it took so long to plan I’m just happy that our long-awaited outing finally happened though not everyone was there (: Miss them all a lot. But somehow I know that turning back the clock wouldn’t even make it the same anymore.

Omggg liberated at last! I have like one week to enjoy before the misery comes with our results ): I seriously don’t feel secure with ANY paper at all. Sigh I guess that’s what you get with humanities. Haha so anyway back to freedom, Friday was a happy day (: After our Lit paper we went to have lunch and watched 500 Days of Summer! <3 Zooey Deschanel really reminds me of Katy Perry! The features and everything. It was quite funny because since it was after our Lit paper we kept coming up with significant meanings of the movie in our minds, like why the people dancing on the streets were dressed in blue?! Yay sweet shows like these make me feel all warm and fuzzy after I step out of the theatre (: It was totally like a HP outing, because we ended up meeting so many people there who were catching the same show at the same time!
Haha I might consider a career in 8 Days actually.
Then we went around trying clothes omg. The girls choosing for the guys, and the guys for the girls! I have good taste please, Nigel wants to buy the pair of jeans from Zara! Heh and today I went to buy one of the tops that I tried (: Shopping spree! Watched Julie & Julia with Mummy, which makes it like two movies in two days! Record-breaking :D We were supposed to watch City of Life and Death, but we didn’t realise it was M18 until we got to the theatre door and the guy asked me how old I am. Haha sigh, so that’s how we ended up with the cooking movie (: There’s probably going to be one more movie on Monday omg. FAME (:
I don’t have a personal diary in my life right now because my 15th one ran out just before Promos! Haha and I’m not allowed to buy one any time soon because it became a birthday present idea for my special group of friends. It’s so strange not being the one planning a surprise now because I’ve always been doing it. And honestly no one’s ever succeeded for me HAHA. I’m birthday queen. (:
It was raining very nicely this morning <3 complete with thunder! I just wanted to hide under the covers and sleep for hours. But I got up anyway! To clear my Prom emails haha. Life feels empty now! I shall get going with my post-Promos to-do list.
I know it’s a hiatus. But this is worth breaking it for! MAF 2009 in all its glory <3 (I don’t have a picture from the actual day itself because I was stuck at the Teahouse frying stuff, but here’s some of the best photos I have from our many work sessions!)
And Foco (: After working so hard for months, I know how freaking terrible it must feel to have things not work the way you want them to, just at the very crucial moment ): Even though I didn’t witness the whole light-up, I saw you guys around after GLU looking either glum or pissed off, but please don’t stay demoralised! It really truly honestly turned out great in the end, at least you guys had the front solo part right! And for the record, fountain’s my favourite sub-comm to help out at (: You guys did an awesome job, and the fountain was really pretty! All the wishes that were made there with the candles are bound to come true.
(Haha okay now I just feel like thanking everybody! In no particular order; though I doubt anyone will be reading this apart from a few!)
Lico! Probably the most dramatic sub-comm, if I may use that word (: Staying overnight in school, hiding from the security guard, taking up the whole inner plaza almost every day after school sewing/tying/fixing lanterns! All turned out well in the end, the coordination with the music was really organised, and the lanterns were floating in the sky really nicely!
Citygate! The macho people who carry scaffolds and heavy boards every week, kudos to you guys (: All those muscle aches and bruises were so worth it! Now the MAF performance videos and pictures ALL have your pretty Nippon-painted citygate as a backdrop, which makes the photos about a hundred times nicer!
Fireball! It burned beautifully yesterday night (: And even though your hearts dropped together with the balloon that fell into the bushes, I’m sure they were lifted again when the thousands of people in the Central Plaza applauded and cheered!
Centerpiece! It’s truly awesome how you guys managed to finish a whole new structure and design in a matter of days! The new one is so photogenic and pretty (: When you look back and see how far you’ve come, YOU SHOULD BE PROUD :D
Progs! Haha without you our stage would have been empty. Thank you for getting all the performances together, especially Chinese Dance! Not showing bias, but considering how much I’ve been missing it, I’m glad I got to watch the two items during the one rehearsal we had (: I miss it!
And last but not least, PUBHOUSE <3 The most “unphysical” sub-comm, as people say. But absolutely fun all the same! All the painting during work sessions, going on strike and going crazy from all the toxic fumes, trial-cooking, the humongous banner, the layers of cracking paint… all came together yesterday afternoon on a mad rush to fry, steam and chill all our food and drinks!

While I was standing there at the Teahouse frying the sotong balls and whatnot, I could immediately recognise the song when it came on for NYCD. I wanted so so much to run to the Central Plaza to watch Chinese dance, especially HCCD! <3 But it felt terrible that I couldn’t leave. So basically I didn’t really get to take photos, say hi to friends, or enjoy the grand light-up and performances, for the whole night ): Was really depressed about it for a while, and it was almost painful hearing the dance songs play without being able to watch them, let alone perform. But then I realised, the whole Pubhouse was in this together, we were there working hard at our stall, with empty stomachs and selling food, rushing back from council dance and sodache, to make teahouse a success (: And it was all worthwhile, doing it together and earning money! Love you Pubhouse <3 Thank you for making the MAF experience so enjoyable!
So just like that, MAF 2009 is over. Like we were saying after 13th SLC, don’t cry because it’s over but smile because it happened. And it happened this year with a blast! BEN NG you’re an awesome MAFco chair and 36th we did a great job! Love you council (: Now it’s down to mugging for Promos guys!
