Season of giving <3
Celebrated Yunyi’s birthday with her on Tuesday at the CCK swimming pool (: I’m still like some tortoise in water, swam very slowly and my goggles refused to stop fogging! Only did about 5 or 6 laps with a lot of rest time in between them. Haha and I got even tanner omg. I love colour accent, don’t you (:
Took a bus to Lot 1 and got postage stamps. Yunyi wanted to take a picture of the calendar that they had on their wall, so I told the lady at the counter that it’s her birthday :D Today when I went back with my mum to get one more set of stamps she recognised me and asked “Did you come yesterday? You look different!” – my hair was probably neater today cause I tied it up (: We had cheesy pasta for lunch at her house that day cooked by her mum; it always reminds me of the very first GSY sleepover that we had, when we were still neoprints noobs haha! Happy birthday bestie (:
Mummy got back from Thailand last night and so I went to do my nails today, they’re purple now! Haha leftover post-Prom hype maybe. Played badminton with Pubco in the afternoon haha, it was quite a good workout! And the first Pubco outing I’ve actually been to (: Sorry I couldn’t join you guys for dinner! Bad joke about me being attached when I was leaving the place though, tsk!
Baked mocha cheesecake for tomorrow and revamped my bedroom wall with brand new pictures I printed today! Shall admire it for a while later before I fall asleep (: Busy day tomorrow (it’s Christmas Eve yay), waking up early to bake cheese scones!
Untouchable
After spending the longest time yesterday trying to decide between the Canon and Sony models in Best Denki, I finally got the perfect one for me! Canon IXUS 100 IS (: The quality’s almost DSLR-ish and the photo files aren’t very big in size either. I love the colour/lighting as well, it looks okay even in flash! The first DAYS photo in my new camera (: the guys not cooperating properly as usual!
Work sessions have been pretty enjoyable so far :D Wargames, OH fountain, CNY decor! Just that the previous work session was kind of scary cause I had asthma/rashes so I had to rest in the council room for a while when the rest were taking the welfare test :/ And the practical part which I took with Kevin was quite funny in the end anyway, just hope I scored well enough not to fail (>80)! We didn’t take attendance omg, and took longer than necessary to find the lock breaker. After that we went slightly crazy, suggesting to build a garden at the area outside Audi as part of CNY decorations, and name ourselves GarCo! Haha sigh Remus come back soon so that I don’t have to always settle lunch! There was some mess up today with the nasi lemak ): I’m quite sad that there are so few OH work sessions, i.e. less time to play with the fountain! Haha I still got pretty wet today from slippery slope and so I had to make my way home with wet shorts cause I didn’t bring a change. I’m all up for getting wet next time, maybe wargames! I got muscle aches and a sun tan from the previous time when we had to carry all those tables to the high school side field.
Current favourite song by Taylor Swift <3
Untouchable like a distant diamond sky
I’m reaching out and I just can’t tell you why
I’m caught up in you
Untouchable burning brighter than the sun
And when you’re close I feel like coming undoneIn the middle of the night when I’m in this dream
It’s like a million little stars spelling out your name
You gotta come on, come on
Say that we’ll be together
Come on, come on
Little taste of heavenIt’s half full and I won’t wait here all day
I know you’re saying that you’d be here anyway
But you’re untouchable burning brighter than the sun
Now that you’re close I feel like coming undoneIn the middle of the night we could form this dream
I wanna feel you by my side standing next to me
You gotta, come on, come on
Say that we’ll be together
Come on, come on
Little taste of heaven
The good things (:
Birthday treat today from Cammie! Not just in the sense that she paid for lunch that we had at this nice place in Ridgewood that I’ve never heard of (: Haha but for just being there and hearing what I had to say. Thank youuu <3 You’re probably in one of the better positions to understand what I’m going through! And it really helped that we had such a long chat today over ice cream, at the swings which made our thighs ache after a while, then by the swimming pool… that covered just about everything in the world that matters. I’m going to hang that keychain on my pencil case right after I wash away the marker stain (: Then we’ll have the same reminders of each other at the same place!
And recently celebrated Nigel’s 17th together! Haha the youngest among us. You’ll be officially turning seventeen in about two hours time!
Happiest night in a long time <3 The steamboat was just retarded and funny because the oil kept splattering from the teppanyaki and I turned my Forever 21 plastic bag into a face shield. And we cut the birthday cake in front of the Christmas tree there! How picturesque (: Thanks for being such a big part of my JC memories guys (:
While I still can
I watched Mulan with my grandma at Lot 1 on Wednesday after we went out for lunch (: guess what, both our tickets cost only $10 :D We were going to leave after lunch, but then it started raining and neither of us brought umbrellas. So we had to wait at McDonald’s (Popo said she hasn’t had fries in the longest time) for the rain to stop! We walked past a television blasting the Mulan advertisement so she asked me what it was and we decided to go check out showtimes. Haha even though I already heard the movie storyline from Yenjin, and Popo slept halfway through, it enjoyed the movie! She kept telling me it’s been 47 years since she last watched a movie with someone omg. Glad I got to make her day (:
After Prom, it’s back to the other working committee work sessions again. The school was super dusty though ): they were sort of digging up the Central Plaza?! Haha and I got so pathetic at ball games it’s depressing! My mum got back from Thailand yesterday and she said she walked past Team Singapore that just got back from the SEA games in Laos and the 4 guys from Boys Over Flowers at the airport! Haha cool ttm please, but she just busied herself with wine shopping to avoid the crowd of screaming girls.
BFF’s coming back tonight from Korea! Haha the sad phase of everyone being gone from Singapore is almost over, once Cammie gets back on Sunday :D And I need to get back to work sigh, shall try to conquer Indonesia tonighttt. Prom AAR tmr after work session and a treat from Vivien (:
The most beautiful evening.
Prom 2009! It finally came and went. And all our hard work for 6 months paid off! (: I was so happy to see that the Prom magazine turned out perfecttt, after all those thousands of emails I had to send and receive, and the nominees’ waltz which we were so hesitant about at first turned out to be the best part of the night!
Haha like what Vivien said to the councillors, almost with tears! “Promco has been working very hard ever since we started in June, and it’s been a really long jouney…” We’ve come so far, being the first working committee ever to sew our banner, expanding the Prom board 2 times, selling off our tickets with a long queue waiting on the first day, going through countless revisions of the Prom mag, always getting excited when we visit Swissotel together, having 5 hour formals (: Thank youuu Promco for giving me the best time ever, despite the stress and worry we experienced along the way!
Love you Promco <3 We’ll have another fun time at AAR okay, and many more times to come!
High Flyers
Recently, what with all these work attachments at prestigious law firms and police force headquarters etc… It’s making me think a lot about how my life will be like in future, when we all grow up and become something. And being so caught up with a world where everyone’s aspiring for scholarships and big, fancy jobs, it’s hard to tell myself that I don’t want any of it, I don’t want to do what everyone is doing just for the sake of it, that I just want to do what I like. Even if I may not be good at it, and even if it means I won’t be considered a high flyer like the rest of them out there who just keep pushing to get to the top.
Do I just keep believing in what I want to do, or try pushing myself to do more? Open more doors? It’s always been normal to want to give myself more opportunities and go for what I can, but now it’s not that simple because people are fighting for what they want, and I’ve to do the same because those chances don’t just float by for me to grab anymore. If I let them go by now, what if I’ve nothing left in the future when I fail at doing what I initially planned for? It’s proper decisions I’ve to make now ): I mean, of course I want something fulfilling out of my life, and of course I will do something that I really love. But some considerations inevitably keep getting in the way and I just have to steer myself back on track to focus on what I want.
Just a rush of thought that came to me while finishing Wuthering Heights (finally).
Runaway with me
I think I need to get away ): Maybe it’s the accumulated effect of everyone being away at once. Yenjin just left for Korea, my mum went to Penang this morning, Cammie will be leaving really soon for Aussieland and Sub’s not back yet from Dubai! Plus big event coming up on Monday omg, this is harder than I thought.
But it’s not all that bad anyway. My new Christmas tree is up :D And it’s taller than me unlike last year’s! Now it just needs presents below it to complete the festive look (:
Watched New Moon with Gemma Yunyi and Rachel yesterday (: It’s really not as sucky as everyone says if you’ve read the book. I mean, even though some parts seemed a bit awkward and the ending was quite abrupt… overall it was still quite professionally constructed wasn’t it? Give Chris Weitz a break man, I just read on the net that he’s quitting fim making after one more project?! I wouldn’t blame him for feeling super demoralised by the harsh ratings and critics. And I’m not even saying this just because I’m some crazy ardent fan of the Twilight series (well not to that extent, haha). Anyway I really quite enjoyed the movie (: Maybe it was partly the company too! <3
Plus we queued up for free Starbucks drinks!
Take me back to the house in the backyard tree
Said you’d beat me up, you were bigger than me
You never did
Take me back when our world was one block wide
I dared you to kiss me and ran when you tried
Just two kids, you and I
Study buddies
Meet my study buddies of today!
Haha but I only managed to complete my Math tuition homework, nothing much apart from that ): TAG ended like last week, yay! I think the time I’ve been spending with Yenjin is nearly the same as the time that she’ll be away in Korea! Trying to make up for lost time by going for tuition and catching up on notes and work. Haha the recent 3-hour Econs tuition lessons have been fun mainly due to charades (: Then there’s the very last bit of Prom to chiong for so I’m going all out! Stayed up till 1am plus last night to finish the vote counting document that I’m very proud of :D
My mum came home last night and announced that she bought me hair loss tonic! HAHA we shall see if it works (: And I recently bought a dress from Hula & Co, shall wear it out soon! Before the endless weeks of work sessions come, when I’ve to be in school attire almost everyday. Sigh, holidays are coming to an end really soon. Like in 5 days.
Totally-made-my-day question of the month: “can u two be my friends forever”? (:
Delirium!
Second last day of TAG attachment omg, we’ve been doing mostly admin work and maid work on the weekdays ): Laminating/cutting/printing things, delivering food, buying stationery and what have you. Today was somehow the worst of it, I was feeling extremely sian towards the end, just wanted to go home! Then came a point when Yenjin started laughing hysterically for no reason?! This thing is driving us nuts. Quote of the day: “I like all the royal colours, maybe I was born royal!” Wth right haha well at least we still had fun having hthts for the past week, choosing places to go for lunch, and scrapbook shopping yesterday at Urban Write! My vouchers were put to good use (: Saturday wasn’t too bad either, when we got to go to preschool classes to help (: Apart from the fact that a super hyperactive boy accidentally knocked his head onto my nose (really hard) after I stopped him from running around so much. I totally expected it to start bleeding right there?! And the pain was making me tear omg. Occupational hazard.
Prom Mag is finally finished! Awesome sense of accomplishment :D Been hooked on a Korean drama serial recently on cable channel 173, Terms of Endearment! Pretty actress Han Ga-in (:
I’m going to busy myself with making Christmas presents and school work! Before disgusting December comes, sigh.
