HELLO JUNIORS (: I hope the few of you who might see this will help me to spread it around because I don’t think I have a lot of you on FB! ):

Now that Prelims are half over I’m starting to plan the sale of my notes/books haha (: If you’re interested let me know it’s only going to be like minimal binding/photocopying cost for the notes! :D For now, the following are available already! (i.e. I don’t need them anymore woohoo~)

Hehhh the celebration was just too hilarious, breaking my hiatus for this! HAPPY 19TH BIRTHDAY GUYS <3 I still think my backstab-both-of-you plan was pretty good don’t you think (:

Blowing all your fever/flu/cough germs on the awfully chocolate cake oh no ): Haha let’s all get well soon yeah, funny that we’re all sick at the same time omg. Enjoy it anyway, the chocolate banana cake always tastes damn good! Stronger immunity after you recover :D And bring the lunchboxes to NUS and Australia okay! BE CAREFUL THOUGH I’m quite sure the stickers will fall out soon. Really enjoyed yesterday!

WONG YUN YI (: Thanks for spending the day with me too, coming with me to collect the cake and buy the boxes/stickers etc! Our jumpshots at Madarin Gallery were super malu hahah but I still love them (: Let’s have our movie outing at Lot 1 soon okay! Then we can come mug at my house after that… 120 more days D: I’m really glad we went for the MOE talk too, really gave me some confirmation on what I want to do in future – and I hope you’ll find that out for yourself soon too okay! It’s been a week since we’ve stepped down, and tomorrow’s going to be our first birthday <3 I’m hoping it doesn’t rain tomorrow morning so that we can make our passing down (last) announcement on a significant occasion! We haven’t had morning assembly for the whole week, which is pretty funny (:

Thinking back, the day of ‘outvest’ really made me very happy. Of course this isn’t because the event represented the end of 36th’s journey together, because it won’t be ending until we all graduate and celebrate at Prom after As (: It wasn’t just the 4 hours of badminton that we had so much fun with or the massive camwhoring or the exchanging of cards/letters/cupcakes/cookies/ribbons (mostly from the girls haha) or the dinner at Cafe Iguana and DAYS dessert at Island. Those were totally beyond awesome and I don’t think I’ll ever forget these <3 but there was something else (: It was such a big load off my mind, and I remember dreaming about it happening just the night before, and getting so scared when I thought it wouldn’t happen since dreams are the opposite of reality. It’s funny how things work (: I’m really going to miss hanging out in the Council room. Yes, despite it’s permanent messiness and disorganisation no matter how many times we try to clean it up!

One time, when I was really little, I climbed a tree and ate these green, sour apples. My stomach swelled and became hard like a drum, it hurt a lot. Mother said that if I’d just waited for the apples to ripen, I wouldn’t have become sick. So now, whenever I really want something, I try to remember what she said about the apples.

I’m glad I’m doing H3 texts that I love (:

When I got home after Exco formals today the first thing I did was to grab this week’s 8 Days lying on the dining table, and flip to the Horoscope page as I always do:

“Your stars are lively and will drag you kicking and screaming out of your shell. You may get tired of people telling you to smile, but that’s just what you must do.”

Under normal circumstances, I would totally disagree that this week’s horoscope applies to me at all. For one, the first sentence sounds a million times more like Yenjin (: Haha, and I’m not a person who needs a lot of people to tell me to smile. But right after I read this page, I heard my phone vibrate and there was an SMS from our dear GT telling me to smile (: Talk about coincidences! In any case I’m really thankful for tonight’s last formals we had. I’m not so sure that everything had been resolved during that session, but all in all it provided some conclusion to our term. I meant every word I said then, and despite all the choking I hope you guys heard me right (:

The Art of Losing

6 more days, 36th.

It gets me quite nostalgic listening to oldies or Disney songs during morning free periods in the Council Room. Did my second last announcement on the bridge today… I still remember (though I try not to) our first few times when we made minor mess-ups that would get us feeling super embarrassed with ourselves on the way back to the college reception. Everytime I look towards our class and the other councillors scattered across the central plaza, I’d wonder if you could see me looking at you, whether you would smile back for encouragement (: Just want to say thank you for every smile that I get, that always makes my morning that bit better. Haha well I’m looking forward to re-joining A14 down in the middle of the Central Plaza during morning assemblies again, though I’m pretty sure it’s much less warm on the bridge in the recent blazing hot crazy weather.

On another note. As much as I can’t compare my personal experiences with others, I do think that the past year has just been a really different journey for me from what I expected. Honestly, no one can expect what a Council term in HCSC will be like, and that’s what makes it truly ours. It keeps changing and affects you in different ways at different points in your term. Some things that you should have just seen all along, those things that have been there for you the whole time… you suddenly see them only now and deep inside you wish for another chance to do it all again. Some things you get, some things you don’t, but ultimately we’re all really part of one Council. There are so many councillors in the 36th that I admire for being so committed to the work that we do, and for contributing even in the smallest ways. To a special someone (you know who you are), I have so much to tell you, you’ve no idea! Just, thank you for being there all the time right from the very start – it means so much to me do you know? All I can say is, I know I’ve given my very best for this batch that I love so so much, and I’ll step down without regrets. The regrets that I do have will still pain me even as I leave them behind when we move on after 13 May, but I’m slowly learning how to lose those and how to love what’s worth it instead. And what’s worth it makes me so proud that I could cry now, but I’ll save those tears for when it’s really over.

I guess these long (and perhaps boring, to some people) paragraphs on my feelings towards my Council journey in the lead-up to our stepping down will just keep appearing as time moves towards it. But this is for you, 36th (: Thank you for being the amazing people you are! <3

Just can’t live a lie

SATs are over :D (Warning: shameless advertisement coming up.) I’m going to sell my SAT guide book – it’s the latest Collegeboard 2nd edition! It comes with 6 practice tests (because I’ve finished 4 and taken out the answer pages), with many tips on each individual section in front – critical reading, writing and math. It’s in brand new condition – only bought it in January this year so it’s exactly 4 months old! Plus I wrap my books all the time to avoid dog ears or creases along the spine. The original price of this book was $40 from Kino, and I’m selling for… $29 so if you’re interested in getting this for the June SAT test, please tell me asap! It’s really much cheaper and in better condition than one that you can get from bookstores. Price may be negotiable (: Hard pressed for cash in this month of birthday spammage :/

I’m actually quite worried that I’ll change my mind and decide to take SATs again?! If I don’t do well that is. Haha I’m just hoping for a score above 2200. Anyway it’s not like I very terribly want to study in America (: The future is still a blur… something which I inevitably have to increasingly think about.

My PLAP dates are really sad ): One on the day of Athena fac outing, one clashing with Invest rehearsal, and the worst disaster of all – one on the day of Invest?! It’s now 12 more days to Invest. Mixed feelings about stepping down, really. On one hand, major withdrawal symptoms – no more going into the Council room, messy as it always has been, no more Saturday work sessions, no more sitting at Council steps cheering after each debrief, no more meals at the canteen together, no more moving scaffolds and canteen benches… and on the other, anticipation. I just hope that we can all step down together on the right note, as one Council – back to 21st May last year when we first stepped up. <3

Why I can bear to keep coming back to you, I can’t explain. Maybe turning my back would be that much easier.

Omg I can’t believe I just missed three days of school to rot at home! It’s super depressing not stepping out of the house for like more than 72 hours ): The highest that my fever got to was 38.8 D: Today it finally went below 37 and I’m praying very hard that it’ll stay that way so that I can make it to school tmr! I’m beginning to feel really insecure about all the lessons that I’m missing. I don’t recall being this sick since forever.
